The following are some of the events connected with S. Mary’s between now and the end of November (start of Advent).

Sunday 2nd September

The Sunday Club (for 4-11 year-olds) recommences at the 10am Parish Eucharist. [There is a Creche every Sunday at the Service].

Tuesday 18th September
The first of our “Evenings Together” will be held in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm when we shall be helped to explore the work of Water Aid throughout the world.

Friday 21st September
A Coffee Morning will be held in the Parish Centre from 10am to 12 noon, in aid of the work of Macmillan Nurses.

Sunday 7th October – Harvest Thanksgiving
Eucharist – 8am
Family Eucharist & Presentation of Harvest Gifts –10am
Memorial Service for all who’s Funerals have taken place from S. Mary’s – 3pm

Wednesday 17th October – Annual Anniversary Lecture.  
Dr Sheila Cassidy first came into the public eye when she was arrested and tortured by the dictatorship in Chile in the 1970’s. Since the she has written many books, campaigned for better palliative care for the dying and been involved in work with victims of torture. Her Lecture at 7.45pm in S. Mary’s Church will be entitled, “Faith, Hope & Shopping”. The Lecture is Free and there will be light refreshments.

Friday 2nd November – All Souls’ Day
9.30am Requiem Eucharist
7.30pm Requiem Eucharist

 

Sunday 4th November - All Saints’ Sunday
Eucharist – 8.00am
Family Eucharist – 10.00am

Sunday 11th November – Remembrance Sunday
Eucharist & Act of Remembrance – 8am
Sung Eucharist & Act of Remembrance – 10am
Garforth Remembrance Sunday Service (all ages attend) – 3pm [followed by refreshments in the Parish Centre]

Monday 12th November

Another Evening Together in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm, when there will be a talk about the work of Martin House with children who are dying or seriously ill, and their families.
 
Saturday 17th November
S. Mary’s Autumn Fayre in the Garforth Memorial Hall, Main St from 10am.

Friday 30th November
There will be a concert of Popular Music in Church at 7.30pm.

The lord is coming go out to meet him! 

Sunday 2nd December - Advent Sunday
Eucharist – 8am
Sung Eucharist – 10am

Wednesday 5th December
The Parish Advent Quiet Evening will be conducted in the Parish Centre by Fr. John Theobald from 7.30pm.

Already we have Services and Events planned for the rest of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany and Candlemas and the details will appear in the Web Site Update later in the year.
